The annual h+h americas trade show is expected to grow even more in 2024 as organizers plan for more exhibitors and provide additional educational opportunities. The show, a sister event of h=h cologne in Germany – which is the world’s largest trade fair for the crafts sector – is set to take place Wednesday, May 1 to Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention & Conference Center in Rosemont/Chicago. The show was moved up due to broad industry request for earlier dates.
“I’m most excited about bringing the industry together and supporting its growth and development,” stated Darrin Stern, vice president of Koelnmesse Inc. which is organizing the show. “The theme of the 2024 event is ‘It’s for you’; h+h americas is for you and your business, and by investing in yourself, you can thrive in the future.”
The third edition of h+h americas is poised to break records again. With about six months to go, 242 exhibitors from 21 countries have already committed to booth space for this dynamic and rapidly growing event. Among them will be group exhibits from Germany, the UK and Italy along with individual exhibitors from Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Serbia, South Africa, the U.S. and Turkey. To put it into perspective, the 2023 event featured 263 exhibitors from 22 countries.
The organizer has opened a second hall at this year’s event to accommodate the high demand for space and to offer more than 69 first-time exhibitors an opportunity to participate. This extension adds 30 percent more exhibitor space.
The conference program will be organized again in partnership with the Craft Industry Alliance and consists of 50 sessions designed to help small business owners take their businesses to the next level. Tuesday, April 30 will be a day focused on education with eight advanced masterclasses (increased from last year’s four masterclasses), a Content Creator Summit, product academy and Sample It event.
From May 1 to 3, attendees will be able to enjoy keynote sessions, visit business classes, participate in an interactive learning lab, take in a fashion show, see a cosplay competition and view the latest trends in the exhibit halls.
The 2024 event expects to welcome 2,500 to 3,500 professional attendees who will find the latest trends in yarn, fabric and sewing materials with many international product lines normally not seen before in the U.S.
“At h+h americas 2024, we want people to experience the joy of inspiration, finding new products and discovering new topics,” said Stern. “Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, you will find something that sparks your creativity and passion. You will also have the opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, and network with other like-minded people. And most importantly, you will learn how to invest in your business and yourself, because h+h americas is for you.”
